Efforts to bring the controversial Iranian nuclear program to a peaceful resolution continues to prove problematic as the country once again refused to accept a deal forged by the five permanent members of the UN Security Council; Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States, as well as Germany.Following talks in Brussels the six powers released a statement concerning the disappointing outcome declaring, “Iran has not engaged in an intensified dialogue.."As part of the offered deal Iran would be allowed to continue its development of a nuclear reactor but it would be required to send its uranium to France and Russia where it would be processed into fuel rods before being returned to Tehran.Iran has taken exception to the required shipment of its uranium, insisting they would only exchange its uranium for nuclear fuel on its own territory, guaranteeing they received the fuel for which they contracted. While angered by Iran’s decision to back away from the table the six major powers insisted they

The Federal Aviation Administration has said a computer glitch at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is to blame for numerous flight cancellations and delays that are expected to extend throughout the day.According to the FAA the computer system at the airports stopped processing flight plans properly leaving several planes across the eastern coast sitting on runways. While the glitch has been fixed, the nearly five-hour outage will continue to leave many passengers stranded as airports struggle to get back on schedule.FAA officials did say that the outage did not cause safety issues for those planes already in the air as their flight plans had already been entered. With the computer system down the air traffic controllers were forced to enter flight plans manually, causing the long delays.###Click here for moreWorld NewsAbout WooEBWooEB Community is a business, music andsocial networking community. U.S. President Barack Obama has called the recent Israeli decision to move forward with construction in East Jerusalem “dangerous,” saying the move could further hamper peace talks with Palestinians and lead to more violence in the region.Israel has said they approved the construction of 900 housing units in Gilo based on their contention that the settlement is part of their capital city of Jerusalem. Israelis have refused to accept the belief that East Jerusalem is occupied territory and as such they have shown no willingness to halt construction. As part of international law it is illegal to build settlements on occupied territory and because Gilo is on land seized in 1967 many in the international community believe Israel is acting against internationallaw. Israel’s decision to move forward with the construction has also hurt any chance of further peace talks with Palestinians as one of their provisions is the end of settlement building in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.Obama spoke specifically about that

U.S. President Barack Obama has admitted that his plan to close the Guantanamo Bay detention center has been delayed, recognizing that there are still questions concerning where to house the more than 200 prisoners currently held at the facility. While Obama has made the closing of Guantanamo a focal point of his first year on office he has met resistance from many sides who have insisted that the detention center was the best place to keep suspected terrorists. That resistance has led to a delay that could push the closing back to late 2010, something Obama has accepted.Obama admitted that the question surrounding where to move the detainees has been problematic but, that is not the lone issue causing the delay. The President said there are also technical problems associated with closing Guantanamo and until those issues are worked out the detention center would remain open.###Click here for moreWorld NewsAbout WooEBWooEB Community is a business, music andsocial networking community. Despite calls from Washington to freeze the construction of further settlements in Jerusalem the Israeli interior ministry has approved some 900 planning applications for new housing units at the Jewish settlement of Gilo. The decision to approve the applications will likely put any chance of peace talks between Israelis and Palestinians on hold. Palestinians have insisted they would not sit at the table with Israel as long as construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, where Gilo is located, is halted.According to Israel while Gilo is on land seized in 1967 it is part of Jerusalem, the Israeli capital, and it is within their right to build on that land. That right has been debated by the international community and under international law it is illegal to build settlements on occupied territory.U.S. President Barack Obama had encouraged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to use “restraint” in settlement construction but Netanyahu has only agreed to use that restraint in respect to settlements in

Roy Bennett, a senior aide to Zimbabwe Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and treasurer for the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) party, has pled not guilty to terrorism charges and insisted the accusations are politically motivated.According to prosecutors Bennett was part of a plot to overthrow President Robert Mugabe between 2002 and 2006. Bennett was arrested in February for allegedly possessing illegal weapons, a move that many inside his party believe to be orchestrated by the ZANU-PF.At the time of his arrest Bennett had been scheduled to be sworn in as deputy agriculture minister in the new unity government. That has been put on hold as Mugabe has refused to swear Bennett in while the case against him remains open. The charges against Bennett have added more tension to the fragile unity government in Zimbabwe as Mugabe has clearly shown that he will make little in concessions to Tsvangirai and his MDC party.###Click here for moreWorld NewsAbout WooEBYourFindit Community is a business, music andsocial

Kosovo is holding its first local elections since declaring independence from Serbia just over one year ago and while there has been strong opposition from the Serbian minority the government has insisted the process would be free and fair.Despite the historical marker that the election represents it is believe only about 40 percent of the eligible voters will turn out at the polls. That could be due in large part to threats of violence by Serbs who opposed independence.Sunday’s vote was being billed as “the most important since the proclamation of independence” by Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci who declared “We today confirm that our country has deserved to be independent and to have a European perspective.”While Serbia has encouraged Kosovo Serbs to boycott the vote many local Serb politicians have said that call should be ignored.###Click here for moreWorld NewsAbout WooEBYourFindit Community is a business, music andsocial networking community. Four members of Venezuela’s national guard detained by Colombia after they were spotted on their territory will be released shortly.According to authorities in Colombia the four men were detained in the border province of Vichada on Friday. The detention was met with anger by Venezuela and President Hugo Chavez who continued to urge his armed forces to prepare for a possible war.Colombia’s President Alvaro Uribe attempted to downplay the incident and insisted his country shared an “unbreakable affection” with Venezuela. While Uribe insists his country is not at odds with Venezuela that sentiment doesn’t appear to be mutual as Chavez has said Colombia’s recent military cooperation with the U.S. set the stage for a possible invasion.Uribe has denied those accusations, saying the partnership with the U.S. was aimed at stopping drug trafficking in the country.###Click here for moreWorld NewsAbout WooEBYourFindit Community is a business, music andsocial networking community. Google’s Street View service has landed the Web search giant in a Swiss court where they are now facing charges that their popular application is a violation of Switzerland’s privacy laws.Street View provides a 360-degree view of any street level location, a tool that data protection commissioner Hanspeter Thuer said could produce images of individuals without their consent. Thuer has said Google has not done enough to ensure faces and license plates from vehicles were unrecognizable, a failure that could leave an individual in danger.Perhaps most upsetting to Thuer is Street View’s ability to show people inside hospitals, prisons, schools and other sensitive locations.Google has insisted that Street View was legal and they would fight to preserve the application. While it could still be months before the case makes it to court Thuer has asked that Google be forced to remove all pictures of Switzerland from the service and refrain from taking any more pictures until a ruling has been made.###Click here for
