1. What is MP4 video? MP4 is short for Moving Picture Expert Group-4. The film comes in at a little over 90 minutes and covers a lot of ground in enjoyable adrenaline like fashion. Neeson like the character

Notorious Movie Review 2009 by Peter Tosto

Posted on 1/21/2009 @ 1:56 AM in #Movies by Petertosto 0 comments

Notorious is a film of Notorious B.I.G. (a.k.a. Christopher Wallace) played by Jamal Woolard. Notorious follows the life of Notorious Biggie Smalls from geeky Jr. High School student doing exactly as his Mother said getting straight A’s to a street thug Drug Dealer to a successful rapper. The film spans from 1983 until B.I.G.’s murder in 1997. Notorious captured my interest. I had no knowledge of the history of Notorious B.I.G. or the Rap World in general. It was a cross between a gangster film of rappers trying to establish families through the record companies and territories dividing East Coast and West Coast Rappers. The film displays B.I.G. as a child drug dealer who ends up in prison on a 2 to 3 year bid. During his stint in prison he turns to writing his poems down in notebooks. Upon his release he begins to rap his poems to his hometown boys. The film portrays Notorious as a young father who rarely is present for his daughter, an abusive cheating husband and a pot smoking rapper who appears

Four Christmases Vince Vaughn Reese Witherspoon Movie Review: by Peter Tosto

Posted on 11/30/2008 @ 12:17 AM in #Movies by Petertosto 0 comments

Vince Vaughn (Brad) and Reese Witherspoon (Kate) bring us Four Christmases this holiday season. With an outstanding supporting cast for Brad’s family that include Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek the divorced parents of Brad aka Orlando. Vaughn’s brothers played by Jon Favreau the icon behind Iron Mam and Tim McGraw country singer and husband to Faith Hill. Reese Witherspoon who plays Kate Vaughn’s girlfried has her parents played by Angelina Jolie’s father Jon Voight while her mother is played by Mary Steenburgen who earlier in the year played Will Ferrell’s mom in the genius comedy Stepbrothers (a much funnier movie by the way). Step Brothers out on DVD Tuesday is something to look forward to unlike Four Christmases. The film takes place in Northern California on Christmas Eve. Brad and Kate each year since they have been dating (3) make up an excuse to avoid the holidays with their family. This year is no different. The problem is Brad and Kate are ready to check in at the airport in San Francisco only to

"Hancock" Movie Review

Posted on 7/9/2008 @ 11:54 AM in #Movies by InsideScoop 0 comments

Hancock Starring: Will Smith, Charlize Theron, Jason Bateman 1hr32min - RatedPG-13 - Drama/Action/Adventure Based on the "Hancock" trailers, I expected to see an action movie about a crass, homeless superhero who turns his life around with the help of a man to become the hero he was destined to be. In many ways I was correct, but the movie’s twist was the bulk of the story, adding depth to an otherwise comedic, action film. Hancock (Will Smith) was a disrespectful jerk who drank rail dark liquor yet had superhuman strength and the ability to fly. While fighting crime, Hancock typically destroyed public property and due to his lack of class, he pissed off thousands of Los Angeles natives. Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman) was a PR agent who unsuccessfully promoted his idea to Fortune 500 companies to give away free items to charity. After leaving a disappointing meeting, Ray was stuck on a train track. Hancock saved his life, but yet again, destroyed property. Grateful for his Hancock’s heroics, Ray

What Happens in Vegas… Movie Review Peter Tosto

Posted on 5/12/2008 @ 9:31 AM in #Movies by moviereviews 0 comments

What Happens in Vegas… Movie Review Peter Tosto Joy McNally played by Cameron Diaz and Jack Fuller played by Ashton Kutcher lead this comedy. The marketing of this film has misled many. The film which is said to be set in Vegas takes place in NewYork except for t about 15 minutes. This for me isn’t a bad thing. Fuller (Ashton Kutcher) is fired by his father, Jack Fuller Sr. (Treat Williams) due to his lack of not completing jobs. McNally (Diaz) has a high profile job along with a fiancé that she portrays as the one who dumps her. When Diaz and Kutcher are fired and dumped they end up in Vegas for a night of forgetfulness. Neither one knew the other but by morning they are married to each other and $3,000,000.00 richer. Joy (Diaz) claims it was her quarter right after she tells Fuller she wants a divorce while (Jack) Kutcher claims it’s all mine. The two head back to New York City go straight to court and Judge Whopper (Dennis Miller) sentences them both to 6 months of marriage. Miller was quite

Iron Man Movie Review by Peter Tosto

Posted on 5/2/2008 @ 4:04 AM in #Movies by Fun 2 comments

Iron Man starring Robert Downey Jr., Jeff Bridges, Terrence Howard and Gwyneth Paltrow is a blast. WOW, WOW, WOW. What are you waiting for if you aren’t in line for this one you either saw it already or you are on your way to see it. This is the blockbuster of 2008. I couldn't find any reason after watching this film not to go see it. Robert Downey Jr. is Tony Stark and yes of course Iron Man the head honcho of Stark Industries the most prestigious manufacturer of weapons in the world. Tony Stark is the son of legendary founder of Stark Industries who was partnered with Jeff Bridges the ever resentful second fiddle. Stark while on a demonstration of his latest missile launchers to the United States Military is suddenly kidnapped within the first few minutes of the film and held hostage to design the very missile he was demonstrating. The kidnapping is too coincidental and after Stark returns safely home but banged up, his philosophy on life changes which warrants a cameo by Mad Money Jim Cramer

Forgetting Sarah Marshall Movie Review by Peter Tosto

Posted on 4/25/2008 @ 12:54 AM in #Movies by moviereviews 0 comments

Forgetting Sarah Marshall is a romantic comedy that provides quite a few laughs. Jason Segel who wrote and stars in the film was smart to play in the leading roll. Peter Bretter played by Segel is a musician that is relaxing at home while Sarah Marshall played by Kristen Bell calls to let Peter know she is on her way home a bit early. Peter rushes off to the shower and as he is drying off Sarah walks through the door and the laughter begins. Segel provides full frontal nudity in the opening scene more than one time. The audience of grown ups finds this amusing and laughs myself it wasn't relevant and a bit more than cheap. The movie moves on from the living room to Hawaii where Peter is goingon vacation to forget his girlfriend Sarah who just left him for a famous musician from the U.K. played by Russell Brand. We need to give Brand credit for his yoga moves. Peter arrives at the hotel that Sarah always wanted to go to with him but never did. Within minutes Sarah walks into the lobby to see Peter assuming

American Gangster Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe Movie Review by Peter Tosto

Posted on 2/24/2008 @ 3:23 PM in #Movies by moviereviews 0 comments

American Gangster was one of the most anticipated films of 2007. Russel Crowe teams up with Denzel Washington as they square off against one another as Crowe’s character Det. Richie Roberts heads up a task force based in Essex County New Jersey. Frank Lucas the character played by Washington was the notorious heroin drug dealer in the 70’s after Bumpy died. Denzel and Crowe face off throughout the film but not much on screen together. While Frank Lucas is building his drug empire Det. Richie Roberts is focused on finding the man behind the heroin product labeled Blue Magic. Crowe and Washington give worthy performances although in my opinion Crowe has done better in other films. Washington was believable as Lucas but the script pushed the envelope with murder scenes depicting Lucas as a stone cold killer. This is where the film comes up way short for me. American Gangster is supposed to be based on the life of Frank Lucas the kingpin of the heroin market in the seventies one who was convicted

Cloverfield could make You Sick Literally Movie Review Peter Tosto

Posted on 2/18/2008 @ 12:52 AM in #Movies by moviereviews 0 comments

Cloverfield opens to what could be the same director and film crew that shot The Blair Witch Project. With New York City (Manhattan) being in the backdrop of this copycat of I AM Legend that starred Will Smith this one unlike I AM Legend was still too long at 85 minutes if you stay and watch the credits. Cloverfield is one whirlwind of special effects leaving the viewer a frame short of what really happens. If you want to see the person killed, the blood shooting out of someones mouth, or the person being crushed it does not deliver. People die throughout the film but you are left with your own imagination of exactly what occurred. As for the acting they left that out along with the script. The shooting of the film could be deemed cool as T.J. Miller’s character “Hud” carries a cam coder when the film begins at a surprise party. "Hud" continues to shoot the evening as it unfolds while being chased by a modern day Godzilla. The fact that Hud was shooting this historical event that would eventually

27 Dresses Movie Review with Trailer Peter Tosto

Posted on 2/12/2008 @ 2:43 PM in #Movies by moviereviews 0 comments

Movie Review 27 Dresses is the typical “Chick Flick” 27 Dresses is the typical “Chick Flick” starring Katherine Heigl as Jane the girl who has been a bridesmaid but never a bride at 27 weddings. Wow how funny will that be? The cast is comprised of Katherine Heigl as Jane, James Marsden as Kevin, Edward Burns as George, and Malin Akerman as Tess Jane’s sister. The contrast between Jane and Tess is obvious from the first time they are on screen together and like most if not all “Chick Flicks” this one leaves zero to the imagination. But keep in mind that should not play a factor for review purposes being that they (Chick Flicks) all fall under the curse of predictability. 27 Dresses takes place in New York City and a News Jersey suburb where Jane and Tess grew up and still frequent to see their widowed father. The scenes play out like short clip going from one wedding to the next as the love story unfolds between Jane and Wedding Columnist Kevin played by James Marsden. The scene in the film that

Shoot ‘Em Up Movie Review on DVD by Peter Tosto

Posted on 12/31/2007 @ 6:41 PM in #Movies by moviereviews 0 comments

Shoot ‘Em Up comes out on DVD this week January 1st, 2008 starring Clive Owen and Paul Giamatti along with the beautiful Monica Bellucci. This action packed movie is filled with gun fights, killings and more people that will die for Hertz (Paul Giamatti) than a cult filled of followers drinking juice. The difference between Shoot ‘Em Up and the cult followers, at least the people in the cult know what they are dying for. The script is empty as the audience is not clear as to how come Smith (Clive Owen) is suddenly unable to move on with his day without avoiding a gunfight and that he just happens to be at the right place at the right time. I don’t know too many people that saw Shoot ‘Em Up that have been faced with Smith’s decisions while waiting for a bus. Pushing the weak plot aside and accepting this movie for what it was, a shoot ‘em up movie, oh gee how original let’s use it as the title, I guess the writers figured that out on their own. The film is full of gun fights and a romance that builds

P.S. I Love You with Hilary Swank Movie Review Peter Tosto

Posted on 12/31/2007 @ 6:33 PM in #Movies by moviereviews 0 comments

P.S. I Love You stars Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler, Lisa Kudrow, Kathy Bates, Gina Gerson and Harry Connick Jr. P.S. I Love You character Holly Kennedy (Swank) is suddenly faced with the unexpected death of her husband Gerry Kennedy (Butler). Gerry is the love of Holly’s life and after his sudden death, of which he knew was coming, he continues to appear in Holly’s life, directing her with what she needs to do next. The movie raises questions about love, life and dreams. Holly and Gerry were married young, Holly was 19 and Gerry was 25. The idea of what life was suppose to be for them somehow was not met at the time of Gerry’s death, leaving Holly to either move on with her life or stand still in self-pity. Gerry methodically plans to embrace Holly through carefully orchestrated recordings and letters to comfort Holly after He is gone. Kathy Bates plays Swank’s mother Patricia, an Irish bar owner who was left by her husband when Swank was only 15. The two make comparisons of the father leaving
