Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has announced that the social networking site will return to its previous terms of service following an outcry from members regarding a new policy that concerned user data.
Changes made to the terms of service stipulated that Facebook could maintain possession of all data uploaded to their site even after a user deleted their profile. While Zuckerberg stated that the move was made to ensure comments or messages sent by a member weren’t deleted when their profile was removed the explanation didn’t sit well with members, many of whom left the popular networking community.
The decision to revert to their previous terms of service was announced by Zuckerberg in a blog post in which he stated, “the past couple of days, we received a lot of questions and comments about the changes and what they mean for people and their information. Based on this feedback, we have decided to return to our previous terms of use while we resolve the issues that people have raised.”

President Barack Obama outlined his plan for U.S. troop withdrawal in Iraq while addressing a crowd at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina on Friday.
As part of his outline Obama stated that all U.S. combat troops would be out of Iraq by Aug. 2010 but up to 50,000 troops would remain behind to act as advisors for Iraqi forces as well as protect U.S. interests in the country and monitor terrorism threats.
Those troops left behind would be gone by the end of 2011 according to Obama’s outline, which would be approximately one year after Iraq holds elections.
Obama stated, “We have also taken into account the simple reality that America can no longer afford to see Iraq in isolation from other priorities: we face the challenge of refocusing on Afghanistan and Pakistan; of relieving the burden on our military; and of rebuilding our struggling economy - and these are challenges that we will meet.”
Obama stressed that while the U.S. had waged “a long war” in Iraq the strategy has shifted and a more political

Tyler Hansbrough shot 10-13 from the floor and finished with 28 points and 10 rebounds, Danny Green hit 8-11 from the field for 23 points and Ty Lawson dished out 11 assists as the #4 North Carolina Tar Heels (25-3, 11-3) pounded the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (10-17, 1-13) 104-74 in ACC play on Saturday.
Georgia Tech hung tough over the first ten minutes of the game and actually held a 23-22 lead but Green started an 8-2 spurt with a three-pointer and after Lewis Clinch buried a triple to pull the Jackets to within two the Tar Heels went on a 13-0 run and ended the half in front 46-33.
The second half was no better for Georgia Tech as Hansbrough initiated a 14-2 run with a jumper and UNC built a 60-35 lead that the Jackets could never dent.
North Carolina hit 53 percent from the floor and shot 26-29 from the foul-line while outrebounding Georgia Tech 42-30.

The New England Patriots have traded quarterback Matt Cassel to the Kansas City Chiefs, completing a deal that began with linebacker Mike Vrabel to K.C. for the Chiefs second-round pick (#34 overall) in the 2009 NFL Draft.
Cassel filled in or an injured Tom Brady last year and led the Patriots to an impressive 11-5 record but the club missed the playoffs. In his first year as a starter the former USC Trojan threw for 3,474 yards and 21 touchdowns. For his effort he was rewarded by the Patriots with a non-exclusive franchise tag that would have paid him at least $14.65 million next year. Cassel accepted the tag but the Patriots had not offered a contract and opted to send the QB to the Chiefs instead.
Vrabel had spent eight seasons with the Patriots and was part of three Super Bowl victories with the team, 2001, 2003 and 2004.

The latest chapter in the basketball life of Stephon Marbury has begun as the well-traveled guard has shed his New York Knicks jersey for a Boston Celtics uniform and is expected to suit up for Friday night’s game against the Indiana Pacers.
Marbury cleared waivers earlier in the afternoon and was quickly signed by the Celtics who have been looking for a veteran guard to backup Rajon Rondo and provide some leadership off the bench.
The 32-year-old Marbury finally came to an agreement with the Knicks concerning a buyout of his $20.8 million contract and now he will be playing for the Celtics who will pay him a pro-rated share of the veteran’s $1.3 million.
It has been more than a year since Marbury last played in an NBA game.
Marbury was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks with the fourth pick of the 1996 NBA Draft but was dealt to the Minnesota Timberwolves. From Minnesota he was sent to the New Jersey Nets before being dealt to the Phoenix Suns. From Phoenix he went to the New York Knicks and on

The Cleveland Browns have sent tight end Kellen Winslow to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for undisclosed draft picks on Friday, ending a five-year stay that was often filled with injuries and controversy.
After being selected with the sixth overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft the former University of Miami standout suffered a broken right fibula two games into his rookie campaign. Winslow, 25, was expected to make a complete recovery from the injury and be ready for the 2005 season but that changed when he sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee after performing stunts on his motorcycle. He sat out that entire season.
Winslow’s first full season came in 2006 and he collected 89 receptions and in 2007 he made his first appearance at the Pro Bowl after a season in which he hauled in 82 catches for 1,106 yards and five touchdowns.
In 2008 Winslow was hospitalized with a staph infection related to surgery on his right knee and after complaining about his treatment the club suspended him

The Baltimore Ravens will be losing a key component of their defense as linebacker Bart Scott is on the verge of signing a five-year-$40 million deal with the New York Jets.
Scott told the Ravens on Thursday that he would be testing the free-agent market and by Friday morning his agent, Harold Lewis, had worked out a deal that would reunite the All-Pro with his former defensive coordinator, Rex Ryan, the Jest head coach.
While Lewis and the Jets agreed in principle to the deal it still requires approval from Scott but he was in New York on Friday already meeting with Ryan.

The Washington Redskins have landed the biggest free-agent prize of 2009 as they lured the defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth away from the Tennessee Titans and signed the All-Pro to a deal believed to be worth around $100 million for seven years.
Haynesworth, 27, signed the deal early Friday morning and the Redskins have announced they will hold a news conference later in the day to reveal the signing.
Washington was in need of an interior lineman and the signing of Haynesworth certainly filled that hole as he collected 75 tackles, forced four fumbles and 8 ½ sacks.
Following a standout career at the University of Tennessee Haynesworth was drafted in the first round by the Tennessee Titans in the 2002 NFL Draft.

Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe celebrated his 85th birthday on Saturday with a vow to continue seizing lands owned by white farmers.
Mugabe was speaking at a rally in Chinhoyi, northwest of Harare, when he addressed the issue of white owned farms saying, “Farms will not be returned back to former farmers.” He continued, “Some farmers went to the SADC... but that's nonsense, absolute nonsense, no-one will follow that. We have courts here in this country that can determine the rights of people. Our land issues are not subject to the SADC tribunal.”
During the rally Mugabe also brought up the subject of majority ownership of companies operating in Zimbabwe saying, “We would want to see a greater participation of our people in them, not less than 51%, in certain companies we would have designated.”
Absent from the birthday rally was newly appointed Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai who had announced he would not attend the events. Tsvangirai’s Movement for Democratic Change party have called for an end

A small airliner carrying 51 people from the Moldovan capital Chisinau has crash landed at Romania’s Timisoara International Airport but reports have indicated that all aboard were uninjured.
According to Carpatair airline officials the plane, a Saab 2000, had its front landing gear jam as it was approaching the runway. The two pilots, both Moldovan, reported the problem about six miles out and were forced to circle the airport for nearly two hours to burn fuel.
Prior to landing firefighters had laid out a 200 yard bed of foam to prevent the plane from bursting into flames upon impact. The plane eventually landed on its side wheels and managed to rest its nose on the runway without any injury to passengers or crew.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai Calls for April Elections

Afghanistan’s President Hamid Karzai has called for an April election, a move that is backed by the country’s constitution but discouraged by Afghanistan’s electoral commission.
The electoral commission has called for elections by August 20 but that would be three months after Karzai’s term is scheduled to end. According to the country’s constitution elections are to be held 30 to 60 days before a presidential term ends which would make Karzai’s call for an April election within that time frame.
While Karzai has the backing of the constitution he lacks the power to mandate an election date, opening the door for the electoral commission to step in. International monitors have already said an April election would make it difficult to ensure a fair process as there are many issues that need to be addressed before such an event takes place.
Concerns over security, weather and the distribution of ballots are among those issues that have been voiced.
The Independent Election Commission (IEC) has pushed

Palestinian militants have reportedly fired five rockets over the Gaza border into southern Israel damaging a school but causing no casualties.
While both Hamas and Israel have declared unilateral ceasefires since a three-week conflict left more than 1,300 Palestinians dead there have been sporadic attacks launched from inside Gaza that have resulted in an Israeli response.
The school hit in the most recent rocket attacks was in Ashkelon but there were no students in the building at the time. The other four rockets fell in open ground and caused no damage.
There were no claims of responsibility for the attacks but Israel reportedly carried out airstrikes in retaliation.
