Kristen Stewart has echoed her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson’s sentiments on the upcoming sequel New Moon – the film is somewhat depressing because Bella (Stewart) loses Edward (Pattinson). In an interview with The Dish Rag, Stewart says New Moon isn’t “sunshine and roses” like Twilight. “It’s a different movie, a lot happens. She loses him, which is certainly a crazy concept for me to accept because that’s the basis for the entire first movie,” Stewart says. “She grows up, quite a bit. She’s forced to, and she’s got strength and inner determination. A lot of people in her situation would be like, OK, done.” New Moon, also starring Taylor Lautner and Dakota Fanning, is due out in November. The NIT will have its final two teams standing by the end of the night and one of those teams will be either the Notre Dame Fighting Irish or the Penn State Nittany Lions as the two teams square off in New York’s Madison Square Garden on Tuesday evening. Notre Dame started the season with high expectations and were ranked in the Top 10 for some time but a seven game slide midway through the season derailed their hopes and then late season losses to Connecticut and Villanova sealed their fate. The Irish, led by second-team All America Luke Harangody, have played all three of their NIT games at home, knocking off UAB, New Mexico and Kentucky to reach the semis. The NIT men’s basketball tournament has reached its semifinals stage and on Tuesday night the Baylor Bears will be facing the San Diego State Aztecs in game one from New York’s Madison Square Garden. Baylor just missed reaching the NCAA tournament, having reached the Big 12 conference tournament final before falling to the Missouri Tigers. The Bears carried their momentum into the NIT and have collected three straight wins to reach the semifinals. They edged Georgetown in their opener 74-72 before trouncing Virginia Tech 84-66. Baylor then knocked off Auburn 74-72 to reach the semis. San Diego State narrowly missed the NCAA tournament as well as they fell to Utah in the MWC tournament finals 52-50 and they have since marched their way through the NIT to reach the semis. The Aztecs beat up Weber State in their opener and then had their way with Kansas State before dropping St. Mary’s to earn a ticket to New York. A Dutch couple has been kidnapped by a group of armed tribesman in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa and the pair is now believed to be in a mountainous area just east of the city. According to reports the tribesmen abducted the couple and are now using them as bargaining chips to secure the release of two of their relatives who are currently being held by the government. The governor of Sanaa has said security authorities are doing everything they can to ensure the safe release of the tourists. Miley Cyrus insists her tears while accepting the favorite female singer award at the Kids Choice Awards Sunday were real. Cyrus was crticsied for tearing up in her acceptance speech, with some accusing her of faking them. Cyrus insists the emotions were genuine and admits she was a little embarrassed to be crying. “I was a little embarrassed. But then again, I shouldn't be,” she tells MTV News. “It meant something to me because it's from the kids and the kids are more important than anything else in the world. The former American Idol star is keeping the date under wraps but does reveal who will be participating in the ceremony – her three dogs Oscar, Grammy and Dreamgirl. “I want my dogs to be in my wedding. The Los Angeles District Attorney denies reports that Rihanna has refused to cooperate in boyfriend Chris Brown’s assault case. Sources claimed Monday that the singer “wants the whole thing” to go away and refused to help prosecutors to prepare their case against Brown, who is accused of beating Rihanna. A spokesperson for the DA denies the reports saying, “We deal with her attorney who says she is a cooperating victim.” Rihanna’s lawyer also spoke out saying, “She will do everything that the law requires her to do...nothing has changed.” Brown, 19, was arrested in early February for allegedly beating Rihanna, who suffered “two huge contusions,” a bloody nose and split lip in the attack. Contests stepped up their game last night on Dancing with the Stars with scoring the season’s first 10’s and another earning the first perfect score. Rapper Lil Kim scored the season’s first 10 with her Argentine tango. They are at the front of the score board with 27 out of 30 points. Bachelor star Melissa Rycroft upped her game this week with her Lindy hop. She took on a more complex routine and it paid off as she earned a near-perfect score, 29 out of 30 points. Gilles Marini may have had trouble with his Argentine tango at practice but it didn’t show on the dance floor. The performance earned him the first perfect score of the season. Judge Len Goodman said he couldn’t tell who was the professional dancer and who wasn’t. Shawn Johnson fell behind this week. She scored 25 points out of 30 for her Lindy Hop, which judges thought was filled with too many tricks and not enough dancing. Ty Murray tied with the gymnast. He was the most improved this week.
