Marion “Suge” Knight Arrested on Assault and Drug Charges

Death Row Records founder Marion “Suge” Knight has had yet another run in with authorities as the 43-year-old music mogul was arrested in Las Vegas early Wednesday morning and charged with beating his girlfriend and drug possession. Police received a domestic abuse cal land when they arrived they found Knight, with knife in hand, standing over his girlfriend. Knight was booked on felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon along with possession of a controlled substance. Police found Ecstasy and hydrocodone on Knight when they arrested him. The controversial Knight has spent various periods of time behind bars, more often than not for assault charges. At one time Knight was atop the rap world as his Death Row Records produced hits for Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and Tupac Shakur. In 2006 the company declared bankruptcy and in June it was sold for $24 million to Global Music Group, Inc. Guns N’ Roses Songs Leaked, FBI Arrests Suspect

The FBI has arrested a 27-year-old man suspected of streaming several songs from an unreleased album by Guns N’ Roses. According to agents Kevin Cogill uploaded nine tracks from the yet to be releases album “Chinese Democracy,” a violation of federal copyright laws. Cogill admitted to the agents he had placed the songs on his Web site in June but they have since been removed. Cogill was arrested on Wednesday morning. Neil Diamond appears contrite and is ready to make good to his loyal fan base announcing anyone who attended his Monday night show at Ohio State University in Columbus, OH would be given a refund. The “Sweet Caroline” crooner disappointed many in attendance when he came on stage and attempted to get through his set with a hoarse voice. Diamond didn’t mention to the crowd that he had been suffering from acute laryngitis so many left the show believing the 67-year-old had failed to meet their expectations. Following the show and some backlash Diamond posted a note on his Web site that read, “Please give me a few days to figure out a way to make it up to you. Maxwellannounced his new concert tour was announced recently, according to reports on Monday. The tour will be his first in six years. The North American tour will begin Boston on October 8 and includes stops in New York City, Atlanta andLos Angeles, according to a press release on Sunday. The liveconcert dateswill be a "pre-party tour celebration" forMaxwell's upcoming trilogy album Black Summers' Night. The trilogy album will begin with Black, which will be released in 2008. Britney Spears has been nominated for "Video of the Year" for the 2008MTV Video Music Awards, according to reports on Monday. Spears was nominated for her video "Piece of Me," a video that played on her reputation as a tabloid queen. The other nominees are the Jonas Brothers for "Burnin Up," Chris Brown for "Forever," the Pussycat Dolls for "When I Grow Up" and newcomers The Ting Tings for "Shut Up and Let Me Go." Disney's The Cheetah Girls Launch 50-Date North American Tour

The Cheetah Girls will launch a 50-date North American tour, according to reports on Monday. The Disney Channel stars will begin the tour onOct. 8 at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, and end it on Dec. 21 at the San Diego Sports Arena in San Diego. Tickets for The Cheetah Girls tour go on sale Aug. 23 via Ticketmaster and AEGLive.com. Jay-Z announced recently that his next album will be entitled Blueprint 3 with his first single called "Jockin' Jay-Z", which featured Kanye West. Blueprint 3 will be the third installment of his Blueprint series, following 2001's The Blueprint and 2002's The Blueprint 2: The Gift and The Curse. It will also be his third album since his retirement in 2004. Jay-Z was a surprise guest on West's "Glow in the Dark" tour concert at Madison Square Garden on Aug. 6. A founder of the country music band Sugarland has filed a lawsuit against the two current band members, Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush. Former member Kristen Hall helped form the band in 2002 but went solo in 2005. The lawsuit alleges that Hall, Nettles and Bush had an agreement to equally share profits and losses. Hall is suing the band for $1.5 million claiming that she has not shared in any of the band’s profits since she left. No statement regarding the lawsuit has been released by Sugarland. On Monday night the winner of Nashville Star was chosen. The two finalists were electrician Gabe Garcia and a mother of five boys Melissa Lawson. Host Billy Ray Cyrus announced that Lawson, 32, was the winner. She was given a new red Toyota Tundra pick-up truck as well as a recording contract. “America, your new Nashville Star is Melissa Lawson!” Cyrus told the crowd as the singer’s family rushed on stage. Lawson then debuted her first single ‘What If It All Goes Right.’ The song will be on country radio stations beginning Tuesday and Lawson will perform it at the Olympics on August 12. Dr. Dre's highly-anticipated album "Detox" is slated for a release date in "November or December", according to USA Today. In his first interview in months, Dr. Dre gave an update on his "phantom" album that has been expected for years. "I'm just now -- over the last couple of months -- starting to feel that it's going to be right and it's something I can be proud of, and everybody is going to love it," Dr. Dre told USA Today. "In a perfect world, I'm shooting for a November or December release." Dr. Dre was particularly excited about the drums on the album, most of which came from live performance. "We have an entirely new thing going with the drums that's incredible, and we're still developing that," he said. Khia Edgerton, Baltimore's 92Q Jams radio DJ K-Swift, has died after sustaining a head injury in a swimming pool accident. Edgerton was 27 years old. Edgerton was taken to Baltimore's Good Samaritan Hospital, where she was pronounced dead Monday morning. Edgerton, better known to fans in Baltimore as "K-Swift,"began DJing at the age of 11after being influenced by Cocoa Channel and Jazzy Joyce.At age 18, Edgerton wasoffered an internship at Radio One of Baltimore's 92Q Jams, the city's top hip-hop radio station. The Masquerade on North Avenue in Atlanta, Georgia will be holding their first annual Mass Ska Raid on Friday, July 18 at 3:00 pm. The concert will feature twenty local and regional bands playing over seven hours worth of ska, punk, rock and reggae in an effort to amp up the ska music scene in Atlanta. YourFindit wants to know, is it worth the revival? Originated in the 1950’s from Jamaica, ska emerged as a mix of Caribbean mento, calypso, American jazz and rhythm and blues. Since then, the genre has experienced three movements, the last occurring in the 1980’s with the introduction of The Toasters. The third wave Ska movement reached its peak in the mid 1990’s with bands such as Sublime, Goldfinger, No Doubt, Reel Big Fish and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
