AZZ incorporated announced unaudited financial
results for the first quarter ended May 31, 2011.
AZZ revenues for the first quarter were $114.3
million compared to $77.5 million for the same quarter last year, an increase of
48 percent.
The company's net income for the quarter was $9.5 million, or
$0.75 per diluted share, compared to net income of $6.4 million, or $0.51 per
diluted share, in last year's first fiscal quarter.
Backlog at the end of the first quarter was $114.7 million.
Backlog at the end of the first quarter of FY 2011 was $111.0 million and $108.4
million at February 28, 2011. Incoming orders for the first quarter were $120.6
