Michael Jackson Estate Asks for Allowance for Children

Attorneys for Michael Jackson’s estate have requested an allowance for the care of the pop star’s three children. The request, filed in Los Angeles Superior court Thursday, asks a judge to provide financial support due to an “urgent need” to ensure the kids’ needs are met.
“The minor children were completely and wholly financial dependent upon their father, Michael Jackson,” the request states.
Prince, 12, Paris, 11, and Blanket, 7, currently have “no financial resources to provide for their care and support,” according to the document.
The request also asks for an allowance for Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, who was financially dependent on the King of Pop. The request says she “has not independent means of support” other than her Social Security benefits.
No allowance amount was named.
