After a strong start to 2013, with a 30 consecutive day increase in the national average, the pace has slowed down considerably. The national average has started to fall after February 26, after it hit its peak at $3.74/gal, down to its current price of $3. 658. This is much lower than last year's price of $3.85 when it was increase dramatically. We are just about 20 cents under last year's price.
Between January 1st and today of last year, the YTD average was $3.515/gallon and this year it is $3.508. That means that we are doing better but only slightly. However, keep in mind this is still very early in the year and the continuance of the 2012 trend should mean that as 2013 progresses, things are looking up.
